Marissa Maher

Marissa is from a small town north of Columbia where she spent her childhood playing outside with the animals on the family farm. As an adult, that love of animals has spread to pets and especially cats (she has 7 rescues!). Marissa volunteers for the Spay Neuter Project and enjoys fostering cats for Boone County Animal Care. Marissa worked diligently at the University of Missouri Columbia for 22 years in many different roles with 19 years in finance. While at MU Marissa earned her Bachelors degree with emphasis in Nutrition, Fitness and Communication. Marissa is a fitness enthusiast and enjoys hitting the gym with her husband Matt. She also helps others meet their own personal fitness goals with life coaching and nutrition counseling. Marissa is radically vegan and enjoys growing a lot of food in their organic garden. She can often be found canning, preserving and prepping fresh produce and herbs. Marissa loves to walk on her lunch and likes to stay moving in general. Marissa is excited to join the SIL team as Finance Director and contribute to an agency with a mission to help people maximize their independence and age in place. Marissa is dedicated to improving quality of life in her community.
