Michelle grew up in a small town outside of Columbia. She started caring for children at a young age. She was the oldest out of her cousins and would babysit them often. Michelle started doing In-Home care as a teenager taking care of her great grandma on the farm. She would assist her with her ADL’s and hygiene needs. Michelle comes to SIL with over 10 years of experience in caregiving. She worked at an assisted living facility, beginning as a cook then promoted to manager over several different departments. She managed dietary, maintenance, program activities, and caregiving; eventually becoming the assistant to the Director of Operations. During her time at the assisted living facility, she also worked as an In-Home caregiver for individuals with disabilities. Michelle is empathetic, compassionate and patient. She loves to bring laughter and smiles to the people she cares for and works with. She is a strong supporter of SIL’s mission; that individuals stay as independent as they can for as long as they can. She is excited to be working at SIL and looks forward to assisting individuals to achieve their goals.
