Sydney Meyer
Volunteer Coordinator
Sydney was born and raised in a small town outside of St. Louis and moved to Columbia in 2017 to complete school. She graduated from Columbia College in 2020 with a bachelor's degree in psychology with minors in sociology and criminology. She is also in the process of completing her master’s degree through Central Methodist University in clinical counseling and will be a licensed professional counselor.
She has worked for non-profits in the past as a caseworker and has volunteered with organizations through her school and felt that SIL is a great way to reach people throughout the city and ensure they can live the life they want. Sydney enjoys her position at SIL by being able to assist consumers with becoming and staying independent through volunteer services. She especially likes getting volunteers involved in their own community and how they can make a difference.
Sydney loves to spend time with friends, reading, listening to music, and trying new restaurants. She wants to connect with consumers and volunteers alike to ensure a good match is made, and that the community grows stronger.
